The Jeep brand is synonymous with off-roading, and the Wrangler is probably the most well-known off-roading Jeep around. It’s the ultimate do-anything and go-anywhere vehicle with excellent capabilities off-road in either a two-door or four-door option with a removable top. Lots of Choices

Not including the Wrangler 4xe, the 2022 Jeep Wrangler comes in an astounding 12 trim levels: the Sport, Willys Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sport Altitude, Sahara, Rubicon, Sport RHD, Sahara Altitude, High Tide, High Altitude, and Rubicon 392. Each of these trims is available as a two-door or four-door model, and all offer a removable roof that’s either a soft-top or hardtop. The doors are also removable, and the windshield folds down to give you a true open-air experience anytime. Most Jeeps come standard with a part-time four-wheel-drive system with low-range gearing, although a full-time four-wheel-drive system is available.

Plenty of Power

Off-roading takes power, and Jeep has five engines to choose from to get you the power you crave. First up is a 3.6-liter V-6 that delivers 285 horsepower with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can also get this engine with the eTorque mild hybrid system to save on fuel. Two turbocharged options are available, a 2.0-liter V-6 that produces 270 horsepower and or a 3.0-liter diesel available only on the four-door trims. Both of these are paired with an automatic-only transmission.

Next up is a 6.4-liter V-8, available on the four-door Rubicon only, paired with an automatic-only transmission, and produces 470 horsepower. The last option is a plug-in hybrid called the 4xe, which is only available on the four-door Rubicon and Sahara. The hybrid engine is paired with the automatic transmission and delivers 375 horsepower. It combines the four-cylinder engine with two integrated electric motors and offers an estimated 21 miles on electric-only power.

Comfortable Interior

The interior of the Wrangler is both functional and intuitive to make the most out of every drive, on and off-road. Depending on trim level, features include a 5-inch, 7-inch, or 8.4-inch touch screen, most with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, plus a Wi-Fi hot spot and wireless phone connectivity. You can also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather seats, heated front seats, 12-volt DC power outlets, an integrated navigation system, and an Alpine audio system. Jeep lets you customize your features from the very basic Sport to the high-end Rubicon.

Keeps You Safe

Jeep knows that off-roading means you may encounter dangers you wouldn’t find on the road and has added safety features for just that reason. Again, depending on trim, you get a forward-facing camera to let you see the terrain in front of you, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision mitigation. Additional features include automatic high beams, a rear park assist, and a rear backup camera.
